Shooting Script

Script for 5 minute drama:
*Voice over is read to collection of footage*

"I started realising I was different when I started secondary school, on the first day no one spoke to me or even acknowledged me. My mum told me this was because I was shy and didn’t try and interact with other people, I knew that wasn’t true and that I was just not liked. In lessons I was always last to be chosen for teams and no one ever wanted to be my partner. I was approaching the end of secondary school and was look forward to moving to college to hopefully be noticed, liked, appreciated and maybe even loved. The summer holidays came along and the same problems seemed to be happening again, 8 weeks off, nothing to do, no friends, no nothing. Mum urged me to go out so to keep her happy I use to lie and pretend I had friends, I would go down to the park and watch other people in there “clicks” talk and laugh, something I wish I could do but never be able to. I used to watch a certain group of people as I always wish I could be like them, they noticed me looking once and challenged me, I was terrified and didn’t even speak, they started shouting and pushing me around, never did I return to the watch them again. I found my own place where if everything got too much I would go and sit on my own, and wonder why I was even alive, sounds extreme but it’s how I felt. Summer was ending and a new chapter of my life was beginning, college."
